Den Bosch invests in clean air with camera enforcement

As of March 1, 2025, the Municipality of ’s-Hertogenbosch has started camera enforcement in its zero-emission zones. This means that polluting vans and trucks without an exemption are automatically detected and fined. The goal? A more livable and sustainable city.

Efficient and accurate enforcement with CityControl

To carry out camera enforcement, the municipality uses our CityControl software. Smart ANPR cameras scan license plates and immediately check whether vehicles comply with the access rules. This ensures effective monitoring without requiring enforcement officers to be physically present. As a result, the regulations can be enforced efficiently and fairly.

Raising awareness among entrepreneurs

To help entrepreneurs get used to the new regulations, the municipality sends warning letters during the first months after implementation when violations occur. These letters are generated automatically within CityControl and give businesses the opportunity to adapt in time. In this way, the municipality contributes not only to compliance with the rules, but also to greater awareness of sustainable mobility.
