Supporters visiting the Grolsch Veste during the months August and September are greeted by a prominent street slogan which reads: ‘Four-square behind the neighbors’. At the start of the new football season, Sigmax emphasizes that FC Twente is supported by its Kennispark neighbor.
The slogan is part of the #WijBlijven (#WeStay) campaign, a region-wide initiative in which companies pledge their support to the recently relegated professional football club. Sigmax placed twenty squares with ‘clean advertising’ techniques, whereby eco-friendly materials such as milk chalk and thorough high pressure cleaning are applied to the pavement to create temporary street advertisements.
Robbie Mulders, Sigmax ICT Commercial Manager, underlines the importance of this initiative: “We, as direct neighbors, notice that #WijBlijven speaks to us. FC Twente may struggle both on the pitch and financially, but we acknowledge the invaluable value of the club for the region, so also for our organization a possible loss will be felt. We feel support means backing Twente in both good and bad times. With a battle cry like these striking ads on popular walking and cycling routes, we show our passion and support.”
Materials and techniques used by clean advertising are not harmful to humans, animals or the environment and are therefore free from solvents, chemical substances and toxic substances. The drawings will be shown on neighboring cycling and walking paths for several weeks.
